Focus on Health Issues
Have you ever come back from a visit to your GP and sat in bewilderment at home, wondering what exactly he or she said to you after you were diagnosed with diabetes, blood pressure, etc, etc.

Being a pharmacist in a UK registered community pharmacy, I became aware very early that when a person is diagnosed with a particular condition, they get very little information about that condition from their GP or Practice Nurse. People want to know what is a normal peak flow reading for an asthmatic or how often they should do a blood test after a diagnosis of diabetes or any other such question regarding their condition.
I intend to fill this information void, by looking at the most commonly diagnosed conditions in the adult population today and posting full details of the condition itself, medication used, dosage, results of blood tests, do’s and don’ts, etc, etc.
How and when you should take your medication and possible side effects along with results of blood tests are areas that are often overlooked by busy GP’s and it is queries such as these where we may be able to help.
Specific clinical conditions will be listed under appropriate category titles and whenever your personal query remains unanswered, please feel free to contact me through the site.
